Transfers from Beloit to Ponitac
I'm leaving Beloit Wisconsin and off WAY down south in a place called Pontiac Illinois. They'll be close the Beloit area to Sisters for now and the area will be taken care of by the Spanish Elders (Don't worry, they'll be taking our English investigators). There is a shortage of missionaries right now with a lot going home and not much coming in- but they'll be a big increase towards the end of summer/ fall, so a lot is happening. I'll be becoming the ultimate third wheel by joining a sisters trio! I'm so excited! I'm seriously going to miss Sister Winkelman though. I'm going to miss her 5 different laughs, humor, and understanding. She's a great missionary and there's a ton ahead of her! She'll be going down south too in Peoria, and will be with my MTC companion, Sister Fugal!
It's strange how fast my time in Beloit has been - it's been a complete whirlwind. I'm going to miss the people here so much and a sometimes sketch but beloved Beloit. Alicia, our investigator is still progressing though! Keep 'em prayers up, they're really blessing her in her time of need, thank you everyone. I feel so blessed from the Lord and I'm excited to continue to spread his gospel elsewhere.
Hurry for Israel!

Raptor Turkeys and Postcards
Hi everyone! 6/5/17
Me and Sister Winkelman don't think Arturo and Arreill are going to see us anymore. They've only contacted us once since they came back from their music festival thing and we think it's them softly telling us they aren't interested...arghghg. We'll see though and we'll keep trying.
We had another lesson with Alicia but it was a bit crazy with the kids and the phone ringing non-stop.It was still good though. We learned though that Alicia got into some anti Mormon material online by accident wanting to learn more but luckily wasn't phased by it and even asked why people are so mean to write crazy false things. As we read from 2 Nephi 2 it lead to other great questions and discussion. Alicia also asked about the Second coming and how frankly it scared her. We shared our testimony to her that when we do our best to follow God it will be okay and that since God is Our Heavenly Father he is merciful and loving. She connected that with herself saying how she says how much she lives her kids and even when make mistakes. A HUGE thing that was great is whenever she asked questions she would say "do we believe...?" As IN US, AS IN HER, AS A MORMON! We invited her to baptism and she said yes but wants to continue to learn more and doesn't want to make a commitment to herself and God that she knows she won't keep in order to be baptized. She also struggles a little with not having tattoos. She still has so much faith though and really really wants to make her Heavenly Father proud. She didn't make it to church though and she sent us a message that her family members are discouraging her and she's feeling conflicted. Please pray for her!
Moving on, we had a mini missionary, Sister Garner, this week for two days! It was very short notice but it was great! She'll be heading out to Tuscon Arizona and she is very pure-hearted and will be a great missionary. There's a photo of the three of us after we "heart-attacked" a member's home. A lot of our visit day was tracting and not much else and me and Sister Winkelman prayed very hard that she would be able to have a teaching experience with an investigator. We knocked on a former investigator's door who had moved but found a sweet 17-old girl named Jade who gladly let us in! It was a huge blessing and we are very grateful that Sister Garner had that experience and for us to have a new investigator!
At the Beloit Historical Society this week we got to sort some old postcards some dating to 1907 which was super cool. One of them just says "I'm O.K". Might just send that out one preparation day.
To end the week off as we were pulling into a trailer park two wild turkeys started to run majestically beside our car looking like raptors from Juresstic Park. Sister Winkelman didn't see them for a moment and they were getting close to the front of our car which made me yell "TURKEY!" which me and Sister Winkelman swerve and scream. We laughed so hard.
Have a great week!
